Obituary - "Agnes Jostes - Funeral services for Agnes A. Jostes, 88 of Columbus, formerly of Platte Center were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 28 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center. The Rev. James C. Ryberg officiated. Visitation was from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Church where the rosary was prayed at 7 o'clock that evening. Visitation resumed on Thursday morning at the church from 9 a.m. until time of the service. Burial was in Sts Patrick/Joseph Cemetery, rural Platte Center. Pallbearers were Mark Borchers, Cletus Borchers, Glenn Veik, Neal Dreifrust (should be Dreifurst), Jason Jazwick and Brian Soulliere. Mrs. Jostes died Monday, January 25, 1993 at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 17, 1904 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Grace (Carroll) Heeg and attended St. Francis Xavier School in Chicago. On September 26, 1928 she was married to Raymond Jostes at Sidney, Nebraska. The couple lived and farmed in the Platte Center area. Mr. Jostes died January 10, 1966. Agnes worked at Dale Electronics for ten years and in 1990 she moved to Columbus. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Platte Center and St. Anne's Society. Survivors include two daughters...; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two sisters... She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; three brothers, Martin, John and Aloysius and one sister, Gertrude Bruckner." ("Humphrey Democrat", Humphrey, Nebraska, Thurs., 28 Jan 1993)
