Bio

Graveside services were held Thursday for Effie O. Edwards. 92, who died Monday in Indio. She had been a resident of the Coachella Valley since 1931. She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Gladys McCormic of Indio; four grandchildren; 10 great-grand-children; and by three great-great-grandchildren. Her son, L. Hunt preceeded her in death. He was the former chief of police for the City of Indio. Graveside services were at Coachella Valley Cemetery. Fitz Henry Funeral Home in Indio was in charge of arrangements.
