Bio

Age 90, Lorraine Monica (Gabel) Klein-Harbour passed away at her home in Osceola on September 11, 2014. Services will be Monday, September 15 at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola. Interment will be in the Osceola Cemetery. Dubas Funeral Home of Osceola and Stromsburg is in charge of arrangements. Lorraine was born March 10, 1924, to John and Rose (Alt) Gabel in Shelby. She graduated from Shelby High School. She then received her Normal Training and taught at District 15 near Shelby. On May 20, 1947, she was united in marriage to Edgar S. Klein at Shelby Sacred Heart Catholic Church. They farmed in Surprise and Shelby and settled on a farm east of Stromsburg in 1955. Edgar passed away Jan. 30, 1987. Lorraine continued living on the farm until 1994 when she moved to Osceola. On Jan. 9, 1999, she was united in marriage to John C. Harbour at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola. John passed away Dec. 10, 2003. She was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola, Altar Society and taught CCD. She was also a member of the Osceola Legion Auxiliary, Stoner Club and Busy Bells Extension Club. She volunteered and enjoyed spending time at the Osceola Senior Center, playing cards with her friends, dancing, crocheting, quilting, reading, gardening and painting, which was her passion. She was a loving mother and especially enjoyed her kids and grandkids. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands Edgar Klein and John Harbour; son Jerry Klein; sister Dolores Meister.
