Nellie Maudine Ferrell, 79, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014.Nellie was born July 27, 1935, in Yukon, Okla. to Lee and Hazel Trimble. She spent 17 years working for Amarillo Independent School District and had worked for United Market Street for the past eight years. Nellie enjoyed traveling, singing karaoke, dancing and she loved to gamble. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hazel Trimble; a brother, David Lee Trimble; a daughter, Rhonda Kay Edwards; and her son-in-law, Michael Betzen. Survivors include three sons, Kevin Edwards and wife Stacey and Keith Jerrell, both of Amarillo and Billy Ray Hobbs of Garden City, KS; three daughters, Raynell Hart and husband Dennis, Becky Borne and husband Michael and Kelli Jo Betzen, all of Amarillo; two brothers, Duane Trimble of Amarillo and Edward Trimble of Pampa; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Pastor Robert Newman of Arena of Life officiating. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Shamrock Cemetery in Shamrock.
