Bio

Services for Orville Arland, 90 will be conducted at 10a.m. Friday, jan. 28, at Fort Laramie Presbyterian Church by the Rev.Robert Fry. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Colyer Funeral Home of Torrington. He died Jan. 20, 2005, at Hot Springs County Memorial Hospital in Riverton. Born May 27, 1914 in Newman Grove, Neb., he was the son of William and Della (Anderson) Arland;and started school there. In 1928, the family moved to Veteran, where he completed his education. He married Ida Mae Morgan on Nov. 27,1940 in Gearing, Neb. The couple lived in several locations in Goshen County. In 1945, he went to work for CF & I Mine in Sunrise and retired in 1982 after it closed. His wife preceded him in death in 1993, after 53 years of marriage. In 1995, he married Lorraine Clutter. Later they divorced. He as a member of the AFL-CIO in Sunrise and Torrington Senior Friendship Center. Survivors include four sons and their wives. To the union of Orville and Ida, 6 children were born. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
