Interment will be in St. Henry's Catholic Cemetery, rural Howells, NE. Visitation will be on Friday from 3 to 8 p.m. at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church in Howells with a Altar Society Rosary at 3:00 p.m. and a Public Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Minnick Funeral Home in West Point, NE is in charge of arrangements. Marcella passed away on Monday, November 14, 2011 at the St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point, NE. Marcella Helen Jindra was born January 6, 1918 in rural Stanton Co., Nebraska to James and Rose (Pojar) Svitak. She attended rural Stanton County schools. On April 26, 1938, she was united in marriage to Edward A. Jindra at St. John's Nepomucene Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple lived on a farm north of Clarkson for a few years before moving to a farm in Stanton County north of Howells, NE. The couple moved into Howells in 1985. Marcella was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, belonging to its Altar Society and Christian Mothers, volunteered for the American Cancer Society, was a member of the Stanton Co. Homebuilders Extension Club for over 50 years, was a member of the Howells American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years and served as president from 1962-1964, was a member of the Past Presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary, was a past member of the Howells Women's Club, belonged to several card clubs and volunteered at the Nebraska Veterans Home in Norfolk, along with the Dodge and Clarkson Nursing Homes. She loved gardening, sewing quilts for everyone and loved her family dearly. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, husband-Edward A. Jindra (November 8, 1995), daughter-LaVaine Kassmeier (May 23, 1982), son-in-law-Dean Bowers (February 3, 1994), Grandson-Steven D. Bowers (August 19, 1996), and brother-Frank Svitak.
