Margaret A. Romshek, age 84, of David City, Nebraska Thursday, passed away September 4, 2014, at the Butler County Healthcare Center in David City. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 8, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, Nebraska with Rev. Matthew Zimmer, Celebrant. Committal will be in the Presentation Cemetery at Bellwood, Nebraska. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7th, from 4 until 7 p.m. with Rosary Service at 7 p.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. Memorials may be directed towards family wishes. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.revbluejeans.com. Kracl Funeral Chapel in David City is in charge of arrangements. Margaret was born December 31, 1929, in David City to Henry and Bertha (Driver) Stevens. She graduated from David City High School in 1948. On April 12, 1950, she married Charles J. Romshek at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City. They farmed by Bellwood and moved to David City in 1991. Margaret was well know for her baking. She also did alot of canning, helped milking cows and butchering chickens. She drove a school bus for David City Public Schools for 29 years. Margaret loved spending time with family and she and Charles had 11 foster children over the years. The children remember the fine example their parents set, being such a loving couple, always holding hands and enjoying their marriage of 64 years. They were inseparable. Margaret also loved to talk Dutch with her sister, since their parents had come from Holland. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the PCCW, was a past State FHA Mother and past President of the David City High School Alumni Association. She is survived by her husband Charles of David City, nine children: Pat (Dean) Hilderbrand, David City, Judy (Steve) Remmers, York, Nancy (Vic) Sowl, Henderson, Jane Romshek of Lincoln, Jeff (Marci) Romshek, Bellwood, Bill (Amy) Romshek, Gibson City, Illinois, Marty (Tricia) Romshek, Bellwood, Buffy Romshek, Omaha & Jackie (Robert) Hildebrand, Pickford, Michigan, one sister, Elizabeth Smith, David City, 24 grandchildren 5 step-grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters and a grandson, Jay Romshek.(1999
