Frances was born in North Carolina. According to family history records, her maiden name was Jeans. In 1850 Lincoln County, Tennessee, she was listed as Fanny Leonard age 42, living with her husband Solomon (44) and their children Jesse (15), John (14), Alley E. (12), and George W. J. (1). Also living in the house was Jesse Hill age 10. All the children were born in Tennessee. In 1860, Francis, age 45, and her youngest son George W. Jones Leonard (later called J.L.) were living with her son John and his wife Sarah Emaline and their son James, still in Lincoln County. In 1870 Lincoln County, Frances age 61 was living with her youngest son J.L., his wife Rebecca and their two children. By 1880, Frances age 74 and her son J. L. had moved to Wise County, Texas. Frances was living with her daughter Allie and son-in-law Charles Green Taylor. Frances was buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery, according to family history records, and a small piece of concrete marks her grave in a plot that belonged to Cash Clay Rich, husband of Martha Jane Taylor, Frances' granddaughter. Charles Green Taylor and Allie Leonard Taylor (parents of Martha Jane) are also buried in this section. INFO; on burial plot was given by grandson Billy Taylor.
