Bio

Myrtice Ostler Jardine Thomas peacefully passed away on August 31, 2014 at her home with her loving daughters at her side. She was born in Tooele on November 10, 1930, the daughter of Moroni and Rebecca Ostler. Myrtice grew up in Tooele. She graduated from Tooele High School and attended Brigham Young University. While there, she met and married her sweetheart, Max Howard Jardine. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on November 5, 1952. They were married for fifty-four years. Myrtice was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, accepting all opportunities to serve selflessly and faithfully the members of her ward and stake, being an example to all. Max and Myrtice labored in the Tennessee Nashville Mission. She also worked in the Bountiful Utah Temple. A friend to all she met, her greatest joys were her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family will miss her at weekly Sunday dinners, holiday get togethers, and time spent playing games around the dining table. After Max passed away, Myrtice married Martin Thomas. He proceeded her in death. She is survived by six daughters, Dawna Jardine, Linn Bergeson (Evan), Lori Martin (Bob), Sue Gibson (Aaron), Janet Larkin (Keith), and Geri Jardine; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Howard Drew Jardine; her parents; three sisters; and one brother. A viewing will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main Street, Bountiful. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., on Saturday, September 6, 2014 in the Bountiful Utah Orchard Stake Center, 3707 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful.
