Bio
Garold Dean "Gerry" Boss died Nov. 3, 2004 at the Highland Chateau Health Care Center in St. Paul. He was born May 14, 1932 in Gosper Co., NE where he attended rural schools, graduating from Elwood High school in 1949. He was then employed at the Hastings NE Naval Ammunition Depot before enlisting in the Air Force in 1952. He served one year in Korea and was based in Biloxi, MS and in Rome, NY before returning to Nebraska where he enrolled at Hastings College in winter quarter of 1957. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, 3 1/2 years later in May of 1960. He was a member of Alpha Chi Honorary Society. After graduating from Hastings College, he was employed as a Research Mathematician before moving to St. Paul, MN in 1960 where he was employed at Sperry Univac. He retired as Director of Software Development in 1989. In 1951, he married Carol Hesser, his high school sweetheart. To this union two children were born, Gregory and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and son, Greg. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Carol; daughter, Brenda Boss (David Sage), half-sister, Tammy Harm (Stan); half-brother, Toby Boss (Cindy); step-sister, Jonna Olson (Dave); step-brother, Jim Birt (Pat); brother-in-law, Clayton Hesser and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
