Bio

Eugene 'Gene' was born to Joe J. and Tracy Simek Skrabanek in Bell County, Texas on September 10, 1941. He graduated from Snook High School. Gene served in the U. S. Army from 1963 and was discharged with an Honorable Discharge on November 30, 1969. He married Betty Ann Kubelka on January 2, 1965. And to this union was born a daughter Kimberly and a son Steven Eugene. Gene was employed by GTE/Verizon and retired after 31 years of service. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed working his cattle. Preceding him in death are his parents, Joe J. and Tracy Skrabanek, his sister Elsie Skrabanek Orsag, his brothers Frank Skrabanek, Leroy Marek, Jerry Skrabanek, Woodrow Marek and twin brothers Charles and William Skrabanek. Survivors include his wife, Betty Skrabanek, his daughter Kimberly and her husband Jere Parobek and their two children Isabel and Jackson Parobek; his son Steven and his wife Susan Oakes Skrabanek and their two children Samuel Eugene and Mallory Maurine Skrabanek. His sisters, Josephine Conaway and Evelyn and her husband Cecil Henning, his brother Milton and Barbara Skrabanek.
