Bio

Frantisek Karel Cernoch "Frank Karl" was one of seven children born to Jan Cernoch and Rozena Urbanovsky in Verovice, in the district of Novy Jicin, Morava (Mähren), Austria. This location is now in the Moravian-Silesian region of the Czech Republic. He immigrated alone to the U.S., arriving in New York on 04 Dec 1891. He located to a Czech community in Texas, settling near Tours in McLennan County. On 17 Jun 1893, he married Anna Albina Gerik at St. Martin's Church in Tours. They adopted two children - Emily Josephine and Daniel Joseph. The common headstone he shares Anna has an inscription in Czech, "Odpocinte v pokoji po boji" - the English translation is "Rest in peace, the battle is over".
