He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member and deacon of Barlow First General Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Ann Garrett and Marilyn Sissy Pickett; two sons, Charles E. and Bill Buddy Borden; one sister, Ruth Mary Brown; three brothers, Jewell, P.A. and Jim Borden; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Rollins Borden; one sister; and two brothers. His parents were William Thomas and Mary Ann Merrill Borden.
