Brainard Clipper (Brainard, Nebr.), July 31, 1924, p. 1, col. 2 Parents Lose Eighth Child Rose Rejda, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Rejda died at her home in Brainard on Thursday afternoon, July 24 at 8:30, after illness of 11 days, death caused by hemorrhage. She was born April 25, 1908 on a farm four miles east of town. She attended the Holy Trinity Parochial school and graduated from the eighth grade there, last spring. She was a quiet girl but possessed of many friends and acquaintances. She is the eighth child that Mr. and Mrs. Rejda have lost: one of which was a son, Anton, who was killed in the World War and was buried in the Alsaine Cemetery in France, the other seven children being buried in the Brainard Catholic Cemetery. Out of the ten children 7 sons and 3 daughters born to Mr. and Mrs. Rejda only two sons remain, they being Frank, who is 20 years old and James 13. Funeral services were held at Holy Trinity Catholic church on Saturday morning at 10 o'clock conducted by Rev. Msgr. Klein. Active Pall bearers were Otto Holesovsky, Ladislav Horacek, Edward Vondra, Frank Prinz, Ernest Vondra and Albin Cabela. Honorary pall bearers were Mary Cabela, Martha Holesovsky, Olga Horacek, Mary Klein, Veronica Janak and Ludmila Pekarek - flower girls were Helen Holesovsky, Mildred Zikmund, Elsie Cabela, Mamie Sedlak, Anna Janak, and Mary Bohaty. _____ We wish to extend our thanks to Rt. Rev. Msgr. Klein for the splendid and truthful sermon delivered also to the venerable School Sisters de N. D. for the beautiful holy pictures, flowers, music and singing, the pall bearers honorary pall bearers, all the flower girls and all other friends who in any way assisted us during the illness and death of our loved one, also to the thirty-seven parties, of whom we have a list, for their beautiful floral offerings.
