From the Grand Island Independent, August 15, 1977, page 2, transcribed by Linda Berney Grace E. Neilson (sic), 92, of Ravenna, died Sunday at a Grand Island hospital. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Rockville Community Church, with the Rev. David McMahill officiating. Burial will be in Souleville Cemetery. Visitation was to have been Monday from 7-8 p.m. at Love and Rhode Mortuary in Ravenna. Mrs. Neilson was born Jan. 16, 1885 in Ohio* to James and Alice Bone. She married William Engle and after his death* married Chris Neilson. They operated a general store in Rockville. He died in 1949. She also lived in Seattle, Wash., and had been a resident of a Ravenna nursing home for the past eight years. Survivors include two sons, Clyde Engle of Mission, Kan., and Howard Neilson of Seattle, Wash.; six daughters, Mrs. Edith Schmaljohn of Jacksonville, Ill.; Mrs. Dortha Nelson of Seattle, Wash., and Evelyn Bartunek of Ravenna; Mrs. Erma Woten of Shelton; Mrs. Fay Latta of Payson, Utah, and Mrs. Leona Paulson of Omaha; and a brother, Clifford of Arnold. She was preceded in death by two sons, a brother and sister. * Obituary correction William Died in 1959. Son preceeded in death, Robert Leroy Engle, Stepson, Ulrick. Brother, John, sister, Ina Mae (Bone) Henderson She was born in Sherman Co. Nebraska. Stepchildren, Evelyn, Erma, Fay, and, Howard.
