Goldie E. Gibson, 84, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1993, in Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Salem. Goldie Scheinost was born March 24, 1909, in Gross, Nebraska. She moved to Salem as a young girl and worked for many years in the telephone office in Salem. She married Donald A. Gibson on June 14, 1941, in Salem. She worked in several offices in the McCook County Courthouse. She later cooked for many years in different cafes in Salem. She was a member of Salem United Church, the Sunbeam Rebekah Lodge, Card Club, and the Salem Senior Citizens. Survivors include her husband, Donald of Salem; one son, Donnie of Salem; two granddaughters; three brothers: Rudy Scheinost of Denver; George Dahlenberg of Vancouver, Wash.; and Dale Dahlenberg of Watertown; and three sisters: Lucy Erlenbusch of Vancouver; Mabel Ellis of Worthington, Minnesota.; and Sylvia Carr of Mitchell, S.D. Memorial services will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday in Salem United Church in Salem, with burial in Wildwood Cemetery. Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem is in charge of arrangements.
