ROSWELL DAILY RECORD MONDAY JANUARY 10, 1927 PAGE 8 JAMES P. STONE DIES James P. Stone, who has been a citizen of Roswell for many years, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital, Saturday evening at five o'clock. Mr. Stone came to Roswell in 1898 and has been a resident here practically ever since. He was a stone mason by trade and assisted in the erection of many Roswell buildings. He was born October 21, 1861 in Texas County, Missouri. His wife died nearly twenty years ago. He is survived by his seven children, J. D. Stone and Mrs. Ben Pendergrass of Roswell, Mrs. Earl Brown of Borger, Texas, Mrs. G.C. Price, John Stone, J. S. Stone, and Frank Stone of Hot Springs, New Mexico. Also one niece, Mrs. R. F. Entrop of Roswell and one sister, Mrs. G. R. Thomas of Walters, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at four o'clock from the Talmage Chapel with Rev. P. M. Baber in charge of the service. Music was provided from the choir of the Christian Church of which Mr. Stone was a member. The pallbearers were G. N. Amis, M. H. Ward, S. P. Denning, G. W. Bivens, A. H. Bullard, and L. R. Cullen. Interment was made at South Park with Talmage Mortuary directing.
