Orville B. Shelburne Orville B. Shelburne of Waco, a retired Greyhound bus driver, died Saturday at a local hospital. He was 83. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dr. Charles Dixon officiating. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park. Mr. Shelburne was born May 4, 1911, in Rosebud. He married Mary Madison on Sept. 12, 1931, in Texarkana and moved to Waco in 1943. He worked for Greyhound Bus Lines for over 30 years and drove over 3 million miles before retiring in 1967. He was a member of Western Heights Baptist Church and was also active in the Heart of Texas RV Club. He served as a volunteer for several local nursing homes, was a former member of the J.H. Gurley Masonic Lodge #337 and a former member of the Waco York Rite bodies and the Karem Shrine Temple. Survivors include his wife; one son, O.B. Shelburne Jr.; one brother, John Clayton Shelburne of Texas City; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and an adopted Baylor University student, Dr. Wayne Bruffet of Little Rock, Ark., who lived with the Shelburne family for five years while he was at Baylor. -from Waco Tribune-Herald, 5/30/94, 2C
