Victoria Advocate Online, August 20, 2005: James J. Bacak, 65, of El Campo, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. He was born Sept. 22, 1939 in El Campo, to the late Emil E. and Bessie Bartosh Bacak. He served in the National Guard, was a member of El Campo-Hillje SPJST Lodge No. 40 where he was a past trustee and had received the Fraternalist of the Year award. He was also a farmer, rancher, self-employed through Bacak Insurance, and a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors: wife, Ardis Sbrusch Bacak; son, Brad Bacak of Richmond; and brothers, Allen Bacak of El Campo and Frankie Bacak of Palacios. Preceded in death by sister, Georgie Trochta. Visitation will begin at noon on Sunday at Triska Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Philip Catholic Church, the Rev.
