Ex-Valley Countian Dies in Oregon Anna Susan Golka was born March 4, 1896 at Tarnov, NE to John and Mary Micek Silver and died Sept. 12, 1979, at the age of 83 in Gladstone, OR Convalescent Care facility. At age 18, the family moved to Loup City. On July 4, 1916, she was united in marriage to Frank Golka. They farmed and raised their family in the Geranium and Ord area. They moved to Clackamas, OR in 1949. Mr Golka died Jan. 23, 1973. Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Burson of Portland, OR, Florence Kapustka of Beatrice and Dorothy Diugosh of Silverdale, WA; two sons, Adrian of Gladstone, OR and Ernest of Milwaukie, OR; 26 grandchildren; 20 great, grandchildren; five great, great grandchildren; one sister, Helen Jahlonski and sister-in-law, Belle Silver, both of Loup City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Raymond; five sisters and seven brothers. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 17, 1979 at Christ the King Church of Milwaukie, OR at 10 a.m. Pallbearers were grandsons, Bob Diugosh, Dennis Diugosh, Vern Diugosh, Rick Golka, Scott Golka, Mike Golka, Randy Jensen, David Jensen, and Brent Young. Burial was at Gethsemane Cemetery in Portland, OR. Mrs. Golka died in a Gladstone convalescent center Wednesday. She was 83. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Peake Memorial Chapel, Milwaukie. Mrs. Golka was born in Tarnov, Neb. She and her husband, Frank, lived in Ord, Neb., until 1949, when they moved to Oregon and settled in Clackamas. They lived there until Mr. Golka's death in 1972. At that time, Mrs. Golka moved to the convalescent center. She was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church in Milwaukie. Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Burson of Portland, Florence Kapustka of Beatrice, Neb., and Dorothy Diugosh of Silverdale, Wash.; two sons, Adrian of Gladstone and Ernest of Milwaukie; and a sister, Helen Jablonski of Loup City, Neb. Other survivors include 24 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Interment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery.
