Bio
Earl Stephens, Jr., age 76, of Smyrna, passed away on March 29, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Winchester, TN but moved to Rutherford County 31 years ago. He was a member of Smyrna Holiness Church and a carpenter. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Stephens, Sr. and Lizzie Mae Steele Stephens and sister, Sadie Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Sue Bragg Stephens of Smyrna; son, Richard Allen (Judith Rose) Stephens of Murfreesboro; daughters, Sharon Ann Miller of Nashville and Frances Renee Stephens of Huntsville, AL; brother, Robert Stephens of Winchester, TN; sister, Lela Campbell of Sparta, TN; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A church service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Smyrna Holiness Church with Rev. Pat Coffey, Rev. James McLain and Rev. Denny Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with grandsons serving as active pallbearers and great-grandsons serving as honorary pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Smyrna Holiness Church; 406 Jefferson Pike, Smyrna, TN 37167.
