Mildred Maxine George, daughter of Clarence E. Neff and Ethel Mae Delong Neff was born July 16, 1918 in Clarke County, Iowa and passed away May 26, 2007 at the Clarke County Hospital at the age of 88 years. She attended Clarke County Schools, graduated from Osceola High School and then continued her education at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa Mildred and Leland "Whitey" George were united in marriage July 16, 1946 and they were the parents of four children; Conreid, Verla, Lynn and Bert. Mildred was a lifelong resident of Clarke County where she and Whitey were active in the community. She taught country school for several years and was a clerk for Rindy's Grocery Store and J.C. Penney's in addition to being a housewife and mother. She was a member of the Leslie Auxiliary and the First Christian Church in Osceola, Iowa She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leland in 1996; son, Bert A. George; grandson, Douglas Cole; granddaughter, Rachael Smith; and brother, Lowell "Bud" Neff. She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Conreid A. Smith and wife Karen of Frederick, CO, Verla Kae Cole and husband Dennis of Osceola, IA, Lynn George and wife Lynne of Osceola, IA,; grandchildren, Alicia Loschen and husband Todd of Greeley, Colorado, Annette Smith of Frederick, CO, Deanna Cole of Bevier, Missouri, Cody Cole and wife Melissa of Bevier, Missouri, Holli Fugate of Osceola; Stacey Feehan and her husband Ron of Osceola; Christopher George of Osceola and Megan George of Pleasant Hill; 11 great grandchildren, Dustin, David Cole of Bevier, MO, and Kaelynn Fugate of Osceola; Darius Fugate of Moberly, MO; Nathan Ooms of Frederick, CO; Austin and Bradford Loschen of Greeley, CO; Calob Ashby of Murray, Braedon, Colby and Brody Feehan of Osceola and sisters, Dorotha Foland of Osceola, IA, Aleta McDaniel of Bethany, MO, Oma Crabb of Osceola, IA, Edith Ann Neisemier of Osceola; sister in law, Irene Neff of Osceola as well as many other relatives and a host of friends.
