Estelle Vernell Bateman McCrary was the 1st daughter and the 2nd child of Clyde William Bateman and Mary Etta Chaney Bateman. She married Thomas Earl McCrary, Jr. on Apr 26, 1947. VERNELL MCCRARY Services for Vernell Bateman McCrary, 78, Mesquite, formerly of Edgewood, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Rev. Jon Henderson and Rev. Dan Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Haven of Memories Cem., Canton. Mrs. McCrary died February 16, 2006, in Mesquite. She was born April 17, 1927, in Edgewood. She was a member of First Christian Church of Mesquite. She grew up in the Edgewood area, where she graduated from school. She moved to Mesquite in 1965. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde William and Mary Etta Chaney Bateman; her husband, Thomas Earl McCrary, Jr.; and brother, Cloyd Bateman. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Justin T. and Linda Adams McCrary, and William Stetson and Tammy McCrary, all of Mesquite, and James B. and Fama Sedlacek McCrary, Garland; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy D. and Ed White, Mesquite; grandchildren, Sara Thompson, James Thompson, Amanda Winters and Krystle McCrary; four great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Bozie Harris, Wills Point; sister-in-law, Jenell Bateman, Mesquite; numerous nieces and nephews.
