DenBeste, Janet Rae (Horak) Age 66 of DeLand, FL, passed away on New Year's Day. Jan's brave battle with cancer was an inspiration to those around her. Preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Stuart Horak. Survived by siblings Sally Cowger (Hutchinson, MN, deceased April 10, 2014), Robert Horak (Ann, DeLand, FL), Donna Lilley (Urbandale, IA), Nancy Guldberg (Jack, Victoria, MN), and her domestic partner, Larry Cable (DeLand, FL). Born on March 19, 1947 in DesMoines, IA, attended Urbandale HS, graduated from Edina HS in 1965, attended Mankato State, retired working in 2013 from Barlow and Associates where she began as manager in the 70's. Her favorite things were gardening and teaching Sunday School at Mt Olivet Lutheran Church where she was a member since 1963. Sharing the teachings of the Bible with young children brought her great joy and calm.
