Shirleen "Penny" Seeton, 81, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, in Ennis, Texas. A celebration of life will take place at 11 a.m., Friday, August 1, 2014, with visitation at 10 a.m., prior to the service, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery. Shirleen was born in Taylor, North Dakota, to the late Edward Grogan and Amy Viola Gilbertson Grogan. She grew up in Tacoma, Washington, and attended Tacoma schools. She married Herman Lee Seeton on October 24, 1949, and they made their home in Ennis, Texas. Shirleen worked as a dietician for Ennis Regional Hospital for ten years. She was a member of Refiner's Fire where she loved serving as a part of the nursing home ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Seeton on May 5, 2005; and daughters, Barbara Nekuza and Anita Joyce Seeton. Survivors include her daughters: Patricia Head and husband, Gary, Amy Spurlock and husband, Jim, and Jennie Ciardo and husband, Chris, all of Ennis; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; nephew, Fred Younkman, of Denton; several brothers and sisters; other relatives and many friends.
