Sherman Democrat January 19, 1995 - pg A-8 VAN ALSTYNE - Services for Harold Woodrow Veazey, 82-year-old Van Alstyne resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Flesher Funeral Chapel in Van Alstyne. He died Tuesday at Elm Brooks Nursing Home in Ardmore, Okla. The Rev. John Bain of the First Christian Church in Van Alstyne will officiate. Burial will be in Van Alstyne Cemetery. Mr. Veazey was born in Van Alstyne, the son of James Veazey and Malta Blassingame Veazey. He graduated from Van Alstyne High School and received both bachelor of arts and Master of Arts degrees from Austin College. He also attended the University of North Texas in Denton, University of Colorado and University of Texas in Austin. During World War II, he worked for the government at Oak Ridge, Tenn. He and his father owned and operated Veazey Lumber Company in Van Alstyne for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Van Alstyne. Surviving is a niece and nephew.
