Frances Klanecky Burwell Resident, 100 Frances, B. Klanecky, 100, of Burwell died Tues., Dec. 4, 2001 at the Valley County Hospital in Ord. Funeral services were held Fri., Dec. 7, at 10:30 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burwell. Burial was in the Ord Cemetery, in the Bohemian section. Mrs. Klanecky was born July 4, 1901 in Columbus to Vaclur and Barbara (Wachal) Klanecky. She grew up near Sargent and received her education at Phillipsburg School District #36, four miles east of Sargent. On Sept. 23, 1919 she married Edward Klanecky at the Geranium Catholic Church west of Ord. The couple lived east of Sargent until 1935 and then moved to Sargent where they operated a grocery and meat market until 1960. They lived there until 1976 and then moved to Burwell where they continued to live until the time of her death. Mrs. Klanecky was a member of Sacred Heart Church Altar Society and Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She also enjoyed singing in the Sargent church choir. Her hobbies were gardening, cooking, sewing, and playing cards. She loved visiting with friends and having family come to visit her for the holidays. Survivors include one son and one daughter-in-law, Edwin and Dorothy Klanecky of Hastings; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; daughter, Evelyn Johnson; brother, James Klanecky; two sisters, Elma Lukesh and Mary Brim and granddaughter, Barbara Johnson.
