Bio

Cornelius J. Bond, 78, a lifelong resident of Stone County, died at 1 p.m. Monday at the Stone County Hospital following an extended illness. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Idel Bond of Wiggins; one daughter, Mrs. John Handy of Tulsa. Okla.; two step-sons, Joe Skinner of Mobile, Ala., and James Skinner of Chicago, I11.; three brothers, Lazrus Bond, Lamar Bond, and Lawrence Bond, all of Perkinston three sisters, Mrs. Travis Hickman and Mrs. Eran Head, both of Wiggins, and Mrs. Miranda Breland of Hattiesburg, and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 3:00 p.m. from Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. J. W. Crawley officiating, assisted by the Rev. Ernest Breland. Dees Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and burial was in Woodlawn Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Bond, Forbus Bond, Gordon Bond, Curtis Hickman, Norman Breland and Dalton Bond.
