Callie Evelyn (George) Burns was the daughter of Hiram "Walker" George and Mary Ann "Mattie" or "Molly" Fowler. Callie Evelyn George married James Wesley Burns, the son of Peter Simon Burns and Mary Croft, on December 10, 1891 in Burlington, Milam, Texas. The couple had no children of their own; however, they helped to raise Sammy Lee Burns the son of Samuel Burns and Zora (Price) Singleton Burns. Samuel was James Wesley's brother. ************************************************************ Cheyenne Star Obit Funeral services for Mrs. Callie Burns will be in the Church of Christ in Cheyenne Friday at 2 p.m. Committal will be at White Rose Cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Scorggins. Mrs. Burns died at her home in Cheyenne Tuesday evening December 17, 1957. She was an aunt to B.C. Burns and C.L. "Red" Burns of Cheyenne and a great aunt of Charles Burns, also of this city.
