J. T. Patrick 5/14/1845 - 9/12/1921 Enlisted Aug 5, 1863 in Company B, 5th Texas Brigade; Pvt. Co. 20 TX Inf ∼ James Thomas Patrick was the only son born to William Wilson and Mary Jane (Reed) Patrick, After the Civil War ended, James married Sara (Sallie) Moss and to this union came one daughter Sallie Patrick. When Sara died at a young age Sallie was raised by her Grandfather, William Patrick. And after his first wife died in 1866, James Thomas moved to Pisgah Ridge at Richland Crossing in Navarro County Texas. He met and later married Prudence Jane Anderson on June 15, 1870. The couple was joined in holy matrimony by Rev. James G. Hardin the Father of John Wesley Hardin the infamous gun fighter. (John Wesley was my first cousin, 3 times removed). James T. Patrick fought in the Civil War and later was the Postmaster in Richland, Navarro County TX., in 1882-1888. The General Mercantile he founded at Pisgah Ridge, eventually moved to Richland Texas, and in time was handed down to his two oldest sons Walter and James. The business remained in operation for over a century, and in the final years, was run by his third and youngest son Arthur NS Patrick Sr.
