Clements Frank “Shorty” Uptmore, age 83 of Bosqueville, passed away early Thursday morning, November 2, 2000 at his residence. A rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:15 a.m. Monday at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Martin’s Cemetery near Tours. The family received visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Uptmore was born April 9, 1917 in Tours, the son of Louis and Mary (Olsovsky) Uptmore. He married Lora Mae Richter of Leroy on April 15, 1940 and moved to a farm near the Leroy area. In his early years, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and hunting. After many years and the family had grown, they moved to Irving. He worked as a heavy machinery mechanic and welder for various companies in Dallas until he retired in 1982. He then returned to the Waco area and moved to Bosqueville, where he enjoyed gardening, fishing and raising cats. Shorty enjoyed the outdoors and lived a fulfilled life. He was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Lillian Uptmore and a brother, Louis Joseph Uptmore. He is survived by his wife, Lora Mae Uptmore of Bosqueville; one son, Clements George “Sonny” Uptmore of Milan, Illinois; one daughter, Janice Marie Nevers of Irving; one brother, Andrew James Uptmore of Weatherford; four sisters, Dorothy Shilling and Bernice Cepak, both of Elm Mott; Catherine Lednicky of Houston and Margie Lesinske of Lake Worth, Florida; four grandchildren, Sheila Marie “Pupsqueak” Farish of Duncanville, Lori Ann “Sam” Primm of Irving, Mary Ann Martens and Louis Edward Uptmore, both of Rock Island, Illinois; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were David Uptmore, John Lednicky, Mark Cepak, Daniel Strahl, Don Clayton and Louis Uptmore. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
