Bio
Ronald Frank Boatner was born January 15, 1948 in Marietta, the son of Thomas Elias Boatner and Willie Belle Parker Boatner. He passed away July 10, 2014 at his home in the Shady Dale Community at the age of 66. Raised in Marietta, Ron was a 1966 graduate of Marietta High School. He and Mary Lou Morgan were married in Fort Worth, TX on June 12, 1970. The couple made their home in Fort Worth until 1990 when they returned to Love County to establish residence. He served in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Expert Badge (M-14 Rifle). Ronald had most recently been working as a tractor mechanic. His hobbies included fishing and making knives. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jonathan Boatner; two sisters, Peggy Jones and Lois Yow; and brother, Arnold Boatner. Survivors include his wife, Lou Boatner of the home at Shady Dale; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Karin Boatner of Abilene, TX; daughter, Vicky Boatner of Marietta; grandson, Joey Boatner; and several nieces and nephews.
