Lenard Peter Christiansen passed away at the age of 94. He was born to Niels Peter and Matilda Stagg Christiansen. He had lived in Ely since 1922. Christiansen owned the Christiansen Floral since 1930 and raised all of his own flowers for the business. He worked for the Nevada Northern Railroad for 21 years and farmed. He drove dairy cattle on horseback from Ibapah, UT and started the Mulliner Dairy near the fairgrounds in East Ely where he operated it for two years. He was a scoutmaster and member of the Ely Nevada Stake, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served on the East Ely Sanitation Board, Regional Planning Commission Board, member of the Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, FTD Association and was a White Pine County Commissioner for 12 years. His first wife, Katie E. Durrant died in 1962, son, Donald L., daughter Kathryn Coates, two sisters and seven brothers preceded him in death. Surviving are wife, Salina "Lena" Carter of Las Vegas, daughter, Gwen C. Peterson of East Ely; son, R. David of Reno; brothers Robert "Bob" of Ely and Ned of Lehi, UT; sister, Betty Matthews of Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
