William Tobler ‘W.T.' ‘Billy' Ware III, 86, of Marshall passed away Friday July 4, 2014 in Longview. He will always be remembered by his family as ‘Poppy,' the name given to him by his four grandchildren. Visitation will be at Sullivans Funeral Home in Marshall, TX from 5 to 7 pm Sunday. Funeral services will be Monday, July 7, 2014 at 2 pm at Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Marshall, TX. Graveside services will follow at Algoma Cemetery. W.T. was born in Hallsville, Texas December 12, 1927. He was preceded in death by his parents, W.T. Ware, Jr. and Ellie Manuel Ware in 1977 and 1970 respectively, sister Nancy Ware in 1938, half sister Mary Wilson Ogburn in 1997, and two sons, William Keith Ware in 1993 and Jesse David Ware in 1999. Billy is survived by his wife of 64 years, Tina, daughter Suzan Lanclos and husband Charles of Hallsville, son Daryl and wife Debbie of Marshall, four grandchildren, whom he dearly loved and spoiled, Stacy Sheffield of Austin, Stefanie Sheffield of Houston, and Toby and Blake Ware, both of Marshall. Before graduating from Marshall High School in 1945, W.T. worked for one summer as a boilermaker apprentice for the Texas and Pacific Railway. He loved sports and volunteered to coach a 6-man high school football team from Elysian Fields for a season. He attended East Texas Baptist College and graduated from North Texas State College where he met and married Tina Turner in 1950. Billy operated Marshall Livestock Commission during the 1960s and undertook the responsibilities of pulpwood dealer and broker for International Paper Company during the 1970s and 1980s. He coached and managed the little league baseball team ‘Giants' throughout the years his three sons played, enjoyed playing golf, was an experienced cattle rancher and cherished his grandchildren more than anything in the world. He loved and served the Lord as Bible class teacher and deacon at Eastern Hills Church of Christ. He was a good man.
