Bio

Bobby D. Durant, 76, passed away, Wednesday, July 2, 2014. Funeral: 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Graveside service: 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olivet. Bob was born in Granbury to Stutts and Imogene Durant on May 27, 1938. He joined the Air Force in 1959 serving four years as a heavy equipment operator. After leaving the Air Force, he began work at American Manufacturers in Fort Worth where he met Lavon. Bob acquired and loved to work the many properties he held in Goldthwaite and Evant. He and Lavon raised cattle and goats well into their 60s. Survivors: He leaves behind wife of 41 years, Lavon; sons, Bobby Nathan of Austin, Dean Durant of Albuquerque, N.M., and Eric Wilson of Lometa; daughter, Pamela Duran of Pilot Point; sisters, Wanda, Glenda, and Donna Kay; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
