Bio

Civil War veteran. Many Pope County men served in both the Confederate and Union armies during the war. Co. H, 15th Arkansas Militia, with his brother-in-law Capt. Archibald Dodson Napier (Confederate, beginning of war) Co. L, 8th Missouri Volunteer Cavalry (Union), Civil War His widow, Amanda Smith Napier Vaughan Jones, received a pension for his service. He may be buried in the Napier Cemetery or another Arkansas cemetery near siblings or other family members.
