Andrew Jackson Wasson, 90 years old, died at his home, Route 5, Sedalia, at 8:00 o'clock Friday night, after a long illness. He had been bedfast for the past six years. Mr. Wasson was a lifelong resident in the community north of Sedalia for the last 66 years. He was born in Pettis County, Jan. 16, 1860, the son of the late Thomas Wasson, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Reagan Wasson. One of a family of nine children, he was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. He married at Sedalia, Oct. 31, 1880, to Miss Mary Ellen Rumsey, who preceded him in death July 3, 1941. Mr. Wasson is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Myra Rhoads, Route 4; two sons, Calvin J. Wasson, Route 4, William R. Wasson, 1222 East Seventh Street, Sedalia. Fifteen grandsons and four granddaughters also survive. Funeral services will be held at the Mt. Herman Church at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. Walter P. Arnold, pastor of the East Sedalia Baptist Church, will officiate. Friends who will serve as pallbearers are Jon Patterson, George Brown, Earl Dirck, Jack Rader, Charles Mettenberg and Henderson Swope. Interment will be in the Mt. Herman Cemetery. The body was taken to the Ewing Funeral Home and returned to the family home at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, where it will remain until the hour of the service.
