Irene Carley Humbird, 85, of Palestine, Texas and formerly of Columbus, Texas passed away on August 11, 2015 in Palestine. She was born on July 13, 1930, to Robert and Emma Telitha Hargrove Carley in Orange, Texas. On July 18, 1947, she married Jim W. Humbird. She was a member of T.N.T. Sewing Club and a homemaker. Irene is survived by her daughters, Terry Andrews of Palestine, Texas, and Nancy Baker and husband James of Goliad, Texas; son Wayne Humbird and wife Patricia of Lake Jackson, Texas; four grandchildren, Michelle Prater, David Humbird, William Humbird and Will Baker; and four great-grandchildren, Johnathan Prater, Luke Baker, Graham Baker and Ruthie Humbird. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim W. Humbird, father Robert Oliver Carley, mother Emma Telitha Hargrove Carley, and sister, Hazel Marvine Fuller. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, from 9:00am to 10:00am at Henneke Funeral Home, Columbus, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at Henneke Funeral Home, Columbus, Texas with Rev. Victor Morrison officiating. Burial will take place in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Columbus. Pallbearers are Earl Humbird, Jerry Humbird, Walter Humbird, David Humbird, William Humbird, Johnathan Prater, Bobby Humbird and Will Baker. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society - Colorado County Unit, 4401 Lilac, Victoria, Texas 77901.
