Sarah married Isaac Newton Coats 18 Dec 1870 in Edmonson County, KY. Margaret Doyel, an aunt of "Babe" Doyel, married George Coats. They are buried in the Holton Cemetery. They had a son named Isaac Coats who married Sarah Holton. For years and years there was a standing legend of a 'lone' grave behind Joppa Church but no one could ever find "except" for two or three hikers, and they seemed unable to find it again, once they left the spot. About ten years ago, accompanied by Mendall Parker and Jim Waddell, we initiated a search and located the grave. On the rock was carved "Agness Coats" It took a couple of years to figure out who this was but it turned out that this was the Sarah Agness Coats that was married to Isaac Coats. The rest of the story was that they were passing through that area in a wagon when she died of small pox and thus buried outside of the main cemetery because of fear of later grave diggers contracting the disease. Their children were raised by William Holton. "
