Ann Hill Lawing, 87, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at Trinity village Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Born at Pine Bluff, on February 2, 1914, she was a daughter of the late George R. Hill and Mary Borecky Hill. She was a self-employed seamstress for 30 years. She was a lifelong resident of Pine Bluff, where she attended Pine Bluff High School. Mrs. Lawing was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Fullbright Sunday School class and Women of the Church. She was a former member of the DuBocage Chapter of the American Business Women's Association. She enjoyed sewing and reading and traveling. Preceding her in death was her husband; Charles F. Lawing, Sr. her parents; George R. Hill and Mary Borecky Hill, two brothers; Martin Hill and George R. Hill, Jr., one sister; Willie Brown, and one grandson. Survivors include one son, Charles F. Lawing, Jr., of Memphis, two daughters; Patsy Powers of rison and Peggy Holden of Yulee, Florida, one bother; Robert L. Hill, of Pine Bluff, three sisters; Hazel McCook and Dorothy Bragg, both of Pine Bluff, Mary Fleming of Little Rock, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, October 24, 2001, at Central Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff, conducted by Dan Loomis. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery in Pine Bluff, Arkansas by Ralph Robinosn and Son Funeral Directors.
