Helen H. Pflaum, 96 September 16, 1917 ~ June 18, 2014 Helen Pupkes was born September 16, 1917 to John G. and Rosa Mary Pupkes. In 1917, her parents were living at 1907 Wilson Street in Falls City, Nebraska. Her father was an auto mechanic for Bull Woffley Auto in Falls City. He filled out his WWI Draft Card June 5, 1917, and explained to the draft board that because he had a wife and baby to support, he should not go to World War I. Helen was born 3 1/2 months later. She was expected. Preceded in death by husband, Loren; parents, John and Rose Pupkes; 4 brothers; 3 sisters. Survived by brother, Wilbur Pupkes (Patricia); sister, Joan Jansen; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation begins Saturday, June 21st at 9:30 am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at the church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Endowment Fund (Falls City, Nebraska), or Mary Our Queen Catholic Church.
