Obituary 26 January 2006 Grand Island Independent PHILLIPS -- Rodney Wayne Green, 55, of Phillips died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at home. Burial will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Mr. Green was born April 3, 1950, at Omaha to Harlan and Betty M. (Wagner) Green. Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, a daughter, his mother and a sister. Additional survivors include a niece, a nephew, and aunts, uncles and friends. He grew up in Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1968. Rodney served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1970. His first jobs included working at Smith Plumbing and as a salesman for Nebraska Builders. Rodney was united in marriage to Teresa Spitz on Dec. 23, 1987, at Grand Island. They bought and sold antiques and collectibles through flea markets, antique shows and estate sales. He especially enjoyed collecting Maytag memorabilia. He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Green, and grandparents.
