Willie also was an involved member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion holding many key positions in both organizations. He was a source of strength to his entire family including his five grandchildren who called him "Papaw". He is survived by his wife of 57 years. He gave her the nickname "Weasel" and together they travelled to many destinations worldwide including Spain, Rome, Mexico City, Africa, and Aruba. He is also survived by his children and their families: Melinda Baros and her husband Johnny of Thornton, TX and Annette Smith and her husband Steven of Brazos Country, TX; grandchildren Misti Christian, Blake Ford, Eric Baros, Benjamin Smith, and Ryan Smith; and great-grandchild Molly Ford and soon-to-arrive Kylie Christian. Other survivors include his siblings: Ben Hajdik, Gloria Strahan, Bernadette Thompson, Frances Hinze, Beatrice Jez, Gladys Lewandowski, Virgil Hajdik, Arthur Hajdik; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and godchildren. He will be remembered as fun-loving and straightforward with a mischievous smile and a quick wit. Willie gave his love selflessly to every member of his large family and his leadership and guidance will touch them for generations to come. "I have fought the good fight, I I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
