Fort Bend Herald, June 10, 2014: Felix F. "Pee Wee" Kuban, 78, of Hallettsville, died June 8, 2014. He was born on June 8, 1936 to Felix Paul and Ruby (McCafferty) Kuban. He married Winnie Louise Pohl on Oct. 22, 1965. He was of the Presbyterian faith and member of the Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Kuban, and parents. Felix is survived by step-daughter, Barbara Sralla and husband, Donnie, of Hallettsville; grandchildren, Holly Henrichs and husband, Shannon, and Dustin Sralla and wife, Kayla; and great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Cole, and Austin Henrichs; son, Chris Kuban; daughters, Melissa Lambright and husband, George, Denise Yennior and husband, Greg, Sheree Folkens and husband, Russel, and Angela Smith; grandchildren, Natalie and Tommy Kuban, Amanda Koone and husband, Matt, Amy Ramirez, Jaime Jackson, Tyler Folkens, Matthew, Nicole, and Carl Dauwalter Jr. and wife, Belinda; and sister, OraLee Pruess. PeeWee and his wife, Louise, owned and operated the Vienna Trading Post for over 25 years. He was an avid musician, starting his career as a young teen. Being the youngest and smallest on the stage earned him the nickname "PeeWee" which all his family and friends called him until his death. Whether it was traveling with his wife and band throughout Texas, or in Nashville, Tennessee, some of his best memories and happiest times were spent picking and singing with friends and relatives. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 12, 2014, at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hallettsville. Visitation willbe Wednesday at Kubena Funeral Home, with the family receiving visitors between 4-7 p.m. Officiants will be Rev. Andrew Taylor and Pastor Alton Pohl. Graveside service and burial will be at 1:30 pm Thursday at Davis-Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg, Texas. Words of comfort may be shared with the family at www.kubenafuneralhome.com.
