Obituary: Mary Edwina Cook Karl of North Richland Hills, Texas passed away peacefully on June 7, 2014 at the age of 87. Mary was born on November 3, 1926 in Irving, Texas. Mary is survived by her 5 children; Linda Karl Logan of Hurst, TX, Charles M. Karl, Jr. of Texas, John Michael Karl of Louisiana, Christopher L. Karl of Bedford, TX, and Mary Susan Karl Evans of Bedford, TX; One surviving brother, Billy Mack Cook of Gainesville, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Karl, Sr. David Clayton Funeral Home will be handling the service with Deacon Al Evans officiating. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mary lived her entire life in Texas where she focused on her family, raising her children and grandchildren. She was a dedicated member of the Catholic Church. While raising her children, she opened and ran a children's day school in Cedar Hill, TX in the early 1970's with her husband. After her children were grown she went back to school to become a nurse and worked many years at Charlton Methodist Hospital before retiring. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering at the church and in schools reading to the children.
