Kurt Lee Everett Feb 18,1961-June 4,2014 Kurt Lee Everett, 53, of Scottsbluff, died June 4, 2014 in Grand Island, NE.His funeral service will be held June 10, 2014 at St.Francis Episcopal Church in Scottsbluff. Interment will be held at 3pm at Greenwood Cemetery in Chadron following the services. Kurt was born Feb 18, 1961 in Leigh, NE to Donald andLouAnn(Loseke)Everett. He received his education and graduated from Leigh High School. At the age of 4, Kurt took his first trip with his dad to Chicago, thus beginning his love and passion for the trucking industry. It wasn't long until he was following in his dad's footsteps and became an owner/operator leased to BMC Transportation in Columbus, NE. During that same time, Kurt was a co-owner of Everett and Sons Repair along with his dad and brother.After driving millions of miles across 48 states, Kurt took a position as the Safety Director with BMC Transportation. In November of 2002, Kurt and Cindy (Hussey) made Scottsbluff, NE their home and married April 24, 2004. For the past 12 years,he was employed as the Safety Director with Ameri-co Carriers.Kurt was a long time Steering Committee member of the Nebraska Trucking Association and a volunteer with the Nebraska Truck Driving Championships. He also served as a member of the Nebraska Safety Management Council.Kurt had a passion for restoring a family 1977 GMC pickup and a family 1977 Kenworth truck. He was a wonderful man who was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.Kurt was preceded in death by his father Donald Everett and his grandparents.
