Died at 2:05 p.m. Monday, July 24, 1978, at Baton Rouge General Hospital Annex. He was 82, a native of Downsville and a resident of Baton Rouge. Body at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., with visiting from 10 a.m. Wednesday until religious services at 4 p.m. Wednesday, conducted by the Rev. Nathan Robinson. Burial in Springville Cemetery, Coushatta, at 11 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. John Corley. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Lula Lea Lockett Hester, Baton Rouge; two daughters, Miss Nancy Lea Hester, Baton Rouge, and Mrs. Donald J. (Martha) Hains, Sulphur; two sons, Harvey H. Hester Jr., Lakeland, Fla., and Keete Lockett Hester, New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. Marvin G. (Mamie) Osborn, Baton Rouge; three brothers, Clifton E. Hester, Tallulah, L. O. Hester, Le[c]ompte, and Gordon E. Hester, Choudrant; seven grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was a member of Ingleside United Methodist Church, the Masonic order and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Published in The State-Times (LA), Wednesday, July 26, 1978
