Bio

Son of Andrew Jackson Thank you Kathie AAH (FAG#47801696) for the following: Published in the 12-26-1912 edition of The Current Local, Van Buren, Carter Co., MO on page 4 (used with permission). Darius Jackson, a tie maker who lived near Van Buren on the Chicopee side of the river, died Tuesday morning, after only a few days' illness, from an affection of the brain, something in the nature of a congestion, as best we can learn. The body was interred Christmas day in the cemetery near town. The deceased leaves a widow and six children, some of whom are quite small, and they have the sympathy of the entire community, especially that they are left in very straitened circumstances and almost wholly without means of support. J. M. Haynes, under whom Jackson was employed, circulated a subscription list in behalf of his family following Jackson's death, and succeeded in raising quite a handsome sum for their present relief.
