Bio

HARTINGTON -- Robert L. Wagner died this morning at his home at Hartington at the age of 80. He was born September 29, 1904 at the Crow Agency in Montana, the son of the late Henry and Anna (Kehler) Wagner. He grew up in Culbertson and was married September 23, 1927 at Culbertson to Ruth Eisenach. They lived at Culbertson until moving to Lincoln in 1936. They moved to Hartington in 1942 where he owned and operated a farm service supply store. He was a member and past master of Relief Masonic Lodge No. 219 A.F. and A.M. at Hartington and a member of the Yankton, South Dakota Consistory. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ where he was a former trustee, deacon, treasurer, and Sunday school superintendent. He is survived by his wife Ruth of Hartington; two daughters, Mrs. Earl (Marilyn) Allison of McClean, Virginia; and Mrs. Wayne (Virginia) Sorensen of Tustin, California; one son, Robert C. Wagner of Parker Heights, Texas; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jack (Henrietta) Deines of Culbertson. Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Hartington with the Rev. Paul Bendit officiating. Graveside services will be Friday at 3 p.m. in the Culbertson Cemetery with the Rev. J.B. Choate officiating, Source: McCook Daily Gazette, April 30, 1985
