Bio
Anthony "Tony" Chudej, 61, of Temple, passed away Friday, May 23, 2014, at his home in the presence of his loving family. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bellmead with Father Raujan Cletus and Deacon Barney Rodriquez officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, at Bellmead Funeral Home. A Rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. following visitation. Tony was born in Waco, Texas, to Tony and Mary Jane (Bartosh) Chudej. He was a police officer at Temple College until retiring. He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temple. Tony was preceded in death by his father; his twin brother, Thomas Joseph Chudej; and a grandson, Jackson Salter. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Chudej, of Temple; daughter, Melissa Salter and husband, Ryan, of Round Rock; sons, Steven Chudej and wife, Elizabeth, of Waco, and Jon Gersbach and wife, Megan, of Temple; grandchildren, Norah and Forrest Salter, Nathaniel Chudej and Emma and Henry Gersbach; his therapy dog, Roxanne; his mother, Mary Jane Chudej, of Lacy Lakeview; sister, Linda Vahue and husband, Lary, of Temple; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
